Monday, June 16, 2014, United States

The United States exported 268,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil in April (latest available data from the U.S. Census Bureau), the highest export level in 15 years. Exports have risen sharply since the start of 2013 and have exceeded 200,000 bpd in five of the last six months. The increase in crude exports was largely the result of higher crude production in the United States, which was 8.0 million bpd in February.
